Top Student New Years Resolution Fails

While we would always want you to better yourself, there's always some common new years resolutions that slide away...

4th January 2021

Would it really be the start of a new year without some New Year resolutions that we know we’re going to bin off after the first week of January?

We try, and often fail, and sometimes all that you can do is laugh.

We thought we’d try our best to brighten up your January, so we’ve pulled together some student New Year’s resolutions that we know aren’t going to stick, for your viewing pleasure.

1. "Start eating my 5-a-day"

That slice of lemon you had in your G&T doesn’t count…

Let’s face it, last night’s leftover Dominos is also looking a lot more appealing than that avocado sat in the bottom of the fridge. Just sayin’.

2. "Lay off the echo falls"

That slice of lemon you had in your G&T doesn’t count…

Let’s face it, last night’s leftover Dominos is also looking a lot more appealing than that avocado sat in the bottom of the fridge. Just sayin’.

3. "Stop leaving people on read"

Apologies in advance to everyone who thinks they are being ignored.

We have messaged you back, but only in our heads, and then we got distracted. Sorry!

4. "Stop having a nap for tea"

Guilty as charged.

It’s not our fault we can’t be bothered to go to the shop, or cook for that matter.

5. "Log out of my ex’s Netflix account"

Pay for Netflix? Do you think I’m made of money?

Plus, it’s good fun to mess up their recommendations.

6. "Stop spending all of my student loan when it comes in"

Online shopping, we see you.

And rent. And bills. And food shops. Oh to be a student.

7. "Stop using my flatmates milk"

How do they notice every time?

It’s hardly a crime borrowing a splash of milk for a cuppa.

8. "Start doing my dishes more often”

We’re not proud of that mouldy mug we’ve hidden.

We’re actually quite disgusted with ourselves.

9. “Stop pretending my camera is broken on Zoom seminars”

If they can’t see you, they can’t ask questions, right?

Probs not, but worth a shot.

10. "Drink more water"

Do cups of tea count?

Coffee? Maybe that would explain the headaches…
